In this chapter Moses is concerned that the 2 1/2 tribes who want to settle west of the Jordan will abandon the other tribes to get into Canaan. But they reassure Moses that they will get their families and famrs settled and protected first then they will help the rest get their inheritance west of the Jordan. A reminder that everyone is needed to accomplish God's purposes.
