In the sacrifice of the red heifer, we see how God planned to make sure people could be 'clean' in order to approach Him, if they had come in contact with a dead person. What the reader is prepared for, is the clear message of the gospel. Since the wages of sin is death and we all die, we are all separated from God. But God initiates reconciliation through a 'perfect' and unique sacrifice
